The film Life’s Illusion, directed by Azar Faramarzi, has won the award for Best Director

*Life’s Illusion*, directed and presented by Azar Faramarzi, features a cast and crew from both Canada and Iran, with Faramarzi also playing one of the roles. She took on both writing and directing for this production.

The film explores two main themes:

1. The illusion and judgments people make based solely on others’ appearances. This concept is portrayed effectively through the story of a Canadian family.
2. The sense of loneliness and family separation often experienced by immigrants after relocation. This theme is woven cleverly into the narrative.

*Life’s Illusion*, produced this year, has been accepted into prestigious international festivals. It has been screened at various film festivals worldwide, receiving diplomas of honor and special screenings from several of them.

Recently, *Life’s Illusion* was selected for the prestigious Widescreen Film and Music Festival in Toronto. On November 9, 2024, it was showcased at the Cineplex Scotiabank Theater to warm reception from audiences and artists alike.

The film was also nominated for Best Director, and Azar Faramarzi ultimately won the Best Director award during the red-carpet award show.

Azar Faramarzi has created several short films and documentaries, earning numerous awards and honors at international festivals. She has also served as a juror in the film competition sections of various global festivals. Her cultural contributions to film have reached audiences internationally, achieving significant success.

This young director has managed to produce and direct a compelling short narrative film in Toronto, garnering attention from many film festivals.

To date, the film has received special screenings and honorary diplomas from festivals around the world. Recently, it was screened at a prestigious Toronto festival and took home the Best Director award.
